Bad Education whilst not as good as Thoroughbreds, is a great sophomoric effort from Finley. It's a fascinating story told extremely well thanks to a very strong script elevated by a fantastic cast
Bad Education may take around 20 minutes to find it's footing. Once it does though, the film becomes consistently captivate and compelling.
Bad Education takes a story which could have been a disaster if in the wrong hands but thankfully it isn't. It's an extremely interesting film. The writing is probably the strongest out of all the movies I've seen released this year (over 50)
Hugh Jackman is terrific here. Delivering one of his finest roles to date. He completely disappears in the role and it comes off so naturally. Everyone in this film is great but the other standout is definitely Alison Janney.
Overall it's one of the best films of 2020 so far. There are a few minor flaws and could have had a little more meat and intensity to it than it already had but other than I loved the film.

This movie was WAY better than I expected. Honestly didn't think it would be to my taste, but damn it was great. The cast hit it out of the park. Am I the only one who finds the parts with the teachers boring. Now I get why my Mother had to fix my collar right away or shed go nuts.

This movie is much more than the famous early 21st century scandal and the actors chosen to portray their respective roles are undoubtedly best placed in every moment.
For me, this movie was not just about embezzlement of funds but more than that, the two minutes of agony that Dr. Frank Tassone(Hugh Jackman) had against the system and the world was the highlight. Although shown as a negative character, I could empathise with the actions taken by a public school teacher and how frustrating it is to be a part of a system where people instead of appreciating their mentors, forget and move on in their lives.
The movie is about the mindset that the people in public service develop over-time, which is what compels them to do things that even they consider heinous. A frsutrated person tries to reason out with himself that his actions are justified and this is what drills him deeper into an abyss of negligence from which it is unable to crawl out.
It all comes down to the role that we are expected to play in this world. We often forget the small, yet significant contribution of some people in our lives. That is why we should appreciate the people who help us in becoming who we are today, otherwise the other Dr. Frank-s won't have an option but to repeat the history again and again.

So Hugh Jackman basically just carries this film with his charisma? Much like his X-Men films. I'd watch it. Best work of his career is Logan as the wolverine. Bad education watch full length 2016.
